Olympic and Paralympic Games represent a world where achievement is measured in milliseconds, where the smallest adjustment to the angle of a skate blade or the aerodynamics of a ski helmet can mean the difference between a medal and "nice try."

Canadian athletes have the talent and drive to compete and win. The Own the Podium 2010 program builds on their determination, helping Canadian athletes compete with the best in the world.

Own the Podium 2010 is a sport technical program designed to help Canada win more medals than any other country in the world at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler, and to place top three at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.

As Founding Corporate Partner, Bell provided Own the Podium 2010 with a contribution of $15 million. Bell’s investment is directed towards the 'Top Secret Program,' an initiative that applies research, sport science and innovative technologies to training techniques and equipment. These advances are expected to offer Canadian athletes a competitive edge heading into the 2010 Games by providing them with the resources and environment they need to achieve their potential.

Own the Podium 2010 is a collaborative effort supported by all 13 of Canada's winter National Sport Federations and the major winter sport partners, including the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), Sport Canada, the Calgary Olympic Development Association (CODA), the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC).

It’s all about Canadian innovation. It’s about Made-in-Canada cutting-edge equipment, sports technology and state-of-the-art training techniques. Ultimately, it’s about Canadians winning on the world stage, celebrating our successes across the country, and deepening our national pride.
