Chantal Petitclerc
Chantal Petitclerc is a celebrated Paralympic athlete, highly honored in Canada and internationally for her outstanding athletic achievements and contribution to her sport. She is the most decorated Paralympian in Canadian history, and the winner of the prestigious Laureus World Sports Award given to the top sportsperson with a disability. Chantal’s journey has been paved with Olympic medals since Barcelona in 1992, through to Athens 2004. She has won 11 Olympic gold medals, four silver medals, two bronze medals, and she broke three world records at the Athens 2004 Olympic Summer Games. She is a three-time World Champion, the winner of Maclean's Canadian Athlete of the Year in 2004, and a successful spokesperson in her work on behalf of athletes with disabilities.
